Corinne Allard
Born in Befalé in the Belgian Congo, then in Belgium. Attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Mons in 1968. She received the Achille Fould Stirbey prize, awarded by the Académie des Beaux Arts in Paris. Corinne Allard brought the art form pyrography to a high level. This technique consists of treating wood with heat, fire-painting. However, the artist has added another dimension by painting the artwork afterwards. The use of both techniques creates an extraordinary work of art created through patience and passion. Women are her inspiration, always majestic and in different worlds, exotic or imaginary. Some of her works are reminiscent of the paintings of Alfons Mucha, Art Nouveau artist at the beginning of the 20th century.
